Wild Art Therapy approaches health and healing from a Transpersonal perspective. This means we depend upon, value and include more than just human beings in the healing process. One's relationship to Self often includes so much more than our body and mind. We are made up of the people, places, systems, cultures, animals, plants, and spirituality around us. We honor these sacred connections and invite them into the therapeutic process.

Nathan is a clinical therapist for young adults, individuals and families who struggle with complex trauma as well as substance abuse and addictive behaviors, anxiety, big emotions and technology addictions. Nathan weaves Wilderness Counseling Therapy with Transpersonal Psychology to create a foundation of Eco-centric healing with three foundations: We are all basically sane, each of us are trying to get their needs met and we are all doing the best we can with what we have available to us His approach is to support clients to connect with their innate capacity to heal by deeply listening. Together, they create a safe enough space for people to come down out of their heads (problem solving) and into their heart (emotional literacy) and body (intuition). He has been successfully creating and facilitating creative Wilderness Therapy programs and interventions such as rock climbing, hiking, snowboarding and ceremony as well as therapeutic work with wolves and horses since 2001. COUNSELLING THERAPY PRACTICUM STUDENT
“The key to growth is the introduction of higher dimensions of consciousness into our awareness.” — Lao Tzu.
Having spent a decade as an educator in schools across the world, John has developed a passion for connecting with young people and their families to help overcome barriers to mental wellbeing. At the centre of this is a fundamental belief in the power of the therapeutic relationship, and the capacity each of us hold to overcome.
Currently completing the Masters of Education in Counselling program at Acadia University, John approaches his work by foregrounding the voice of the client and seeks to support those he works with through a social justice and trauma-informed lens. John prioritizes an integrative approach to healing, incorporating mindfulness-based practices into a broader theoretical framework in which the counsellor is an appreciative ally, holding space for the client as they discover their own, unique path.
John has worked on social mobility and community outreach projects in Asia, South America and the United Kingdom, his country of birth, and approaches his counselling work with a strong desire to remove stigma surrounding mental wellbeing.
