Wild Art Therapy and Hands On Horses are starting off 2023
with a program supporting teens!
Transpersonal Wilderness Therapist Nathan Torti, MA, RCT (with 20 years in the field) and Equine Specialist Dawn Josey (with 10 years as a professional with horses) are facilitating another equine therapy group to build self esteem, learn how to calm big emotions like anxiety or fear as well as develop clear communication skills.
This Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) offers participants a calm, emotionally safe connection with horses. Instead of riding, all activities are "ground work" and relational, as people learn how to communicate with the horses and each other.
This program is evidence-based support for PTSD, Anxiety, Grief & Loss and other activated nervous systems. Playing with these gentle giants can show us who we truly are and help us to feel safe in our own body, accepted, seen and heard. EAP empowers self confidence, teaches us how to use our Voice, strengthen attachment bonds and communicate more clearly. The benefits are endless and the relationships between horses and humans are ancient.
"It was like an island of calm in my usually chaotic life" - previous participant
This group is covered under most health insurance!
4 consecutive Mondays, starting March 6
5-6pm at Todd Hill Farm
$585 per person
